The illistrations on the this childs tea set were based on The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, a children's book written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter.
Jemima is a duck, whose eggs are routinely confiscated by the farmer's wife. Jemima searches for a place away from the farm where she can hatch her eggs without human interference. The book is considered one of Beatrice Potter's best.
